At Coxlease School, we see therapy as an integral element of the learning package for our young people providing direct access to a broad range of therapeutic support. Our highly experienced therapy team work closely with our wider staff to ensure that their expert knowledge is cascaded into practise in both our education and residential provisions. Our in-house therapy team allows us to offer our young people a holistic package of education, care and therapeutic intervention.
Whilst we aim to incorporate therapy into our overall provision and approach, we are still able to offer both one to one and group therapy sessions. We have a number of therapy packages available, which can be personalised to meet the needs of individuals. We do not advocate one single type of therapy; instead, we take a toolkit approach combining best practice from a number of different fields in order to provide a personalised package.

Using therapy to help young people manage their conditions
Coxlease School is renowned for the innovative way in which it integrates therapy with education. The comprehensive package of therapeutic care received by each young people helps them to become successful learners. We offer a range of in-house therapies which allow our young people to express themselves without consequences and build a level of trust with their therapist. The overall aim is for the young person to understand the reasons for their behaviour, their trigger points and how to deal with issues when they arise.
Whilst Coxlease is a therapy-based school, we still deliver on academic results. By focusing on using therapies that help young people to develop self-regulation strategies as well their communication and social interaction skills, we find that young people begin to thrive academically.
