Oliver House School places a great deal of emphasis on helping our young people to develop their life skills. The school building has an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) kitchen which is available for all pupils to use, helping them to build independence in a safe and accessible environment. There is also a strong focus on life skills for the residential pupils living in our homes, with staff being sure to tailor this to the right level for each individual. Having the same staff working across our education and residential services also helps support the transfer of skills between school and home.
Some of our young people are working towards AQA accredited units for independent living skills, covering activities such as making the bed, washing and cleaning.
