Individual care plans
Each young person at Progress School has their own highly individualised care plan which includes details of the activities that they wish to take part in. As much as is possible, the care plan is developed in consultation with the young person themselves and their parents/carers.
At Progress School, we are always led by the individual’s preferences and interests, and that is particularly true when it comes to sporting and leisure activities. Our commitment to helping young people take part in the activities that they want to, has seen our pupils involved in everything from swimming to rafting and den building.
Tailored to targets
Whatever activities and interests a young person pursues, we are always mindful of their individual targets, as set out in their care plan, and what they are working towards. For example, if a young person wants to go bowling, we will look at how we can use the experience to help them develop their social interaction and communication goals.
Local attractions
Our two homes are ideally positioned to access a range of local facilities and attractions in the Preston area, including several nature reserves and parks. The children and young people in our care also benefit from excellent access to several motorway networks allowing easy access to The Lake District, Blackpool and Southport for days out and the city attractions available in Manchester and Liverpool.
