Here at Sheridan School we have a well-established work experience programme. All students in Years 10 and 11 have the opportunity to take part in workplace learning if this is something they are interested in doing.
We understand the importance of tailoring placements to the individual’s interests so the school has built strong links with a number of local businesses who regularly offer work experience opportunities to our pupils. Our students have previously completed work-based learning in a range of settings, including:
- Restaurants
- Music shop
- Computer company
- Riding stables
The frequency and duration of each young person’s work experience is very flexible and designed to ensure that they are comfortable at all times. The exact nature of the placement is personalised to the individual, with some of our students preferring to complete week-long blocks and others working for half a day per week over a number of months. We continually monitor placements to ensure they are meeting the needs of both the young person and the business.
