At Sheridan School our vision is to provide knowledge and understanding of a wide range of topics throughout a broad and balanced curriculum.
How primary works at Sheridan School
Year 3 – Owls
Year 4 – Squirrels
Year 5 - Badgers
Year 6 - Rabbits
All of our primary age students have access to break out rooms, purpose-built to cover a range of needs, as well as a safe and well-resourced garden.
In primary, we provide a positive and nurturing environment with an enthusiastic teaching team that puts the child at the centre of everything we do.
We aim to:
- Close gaps in learning
- Teach the tools needed to take risks and overcome challenges
- Inspire a love of learning and understand its importance within later life
- Build self-esteem and confidence
- Build respectful and positive relationships with others
Our primary curriculum has been developed to ensure aspects of the National Curriculum are covered and are taught in year group classes. Subject leads have created schemes of work that activate prior knowledge, offer opportunities to apply new taught knowledge and include formative and summative assessments.
