Staff at our Hampshire children’s home are celebrating after recently being rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted during their latest inspection – the third consecutive ‘Outstanding’ rating.
Throughout the inspection report, Ofsted praised West View. This included highlighting the positive feedback received from parents and the young people supported at the children’s home: 'One child said that, since being at the home, they have "100% changed". Their mother agreed and said that the child’s behaviour since living at the home is "unrecognisable".’
The report continued: ‘Another child, who recently returned home to live with their family, said: “I would be in a dark place, even prison, if it wasn’t for the care, respect and acceptance of the adults (staff)” during their time living at the home.’
The staff team at West View were also praised throughout the report for their positive impact on the children and young people’s lives: 'The ethos of the adult team is one of encouraging positive behaviour, kindness and respect between the children, each other and the adults.’ And: ‘Adults encourage and support the children’s aspirations and educational achievements.’
Situated within Hampshire, West View is part of the Care division within Aspris Children’s Services, providing support to young people aged 5-18 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) and associated moderate learning difficulties.
