Tadley Court offers young people "outstanding" educational outcomes, with children making significant progress at the school, say education inspectors.
The school provides pupils with excellent support - and "high quality relationships between young people and staff are a particular strength", according to Ofsted.
In their latest report, inspectors said: "Young people say they share extremely positive relationships with the staff who care for them. Comments such as ‘they really do care about me … there is always someone I can talk to’ were indicative of the views expressed by young people."
Children at the co-educational school, in Tadley, Basingstoke, have mild to severe autism, with a number having additional complex needs. The school provides specialist care and education in day and residential settings for those aged between five and 19.
"Dedicated and knowledgeable staff work tirelessly to manage the challenging behaviours of young people," inspectors said.
"The open and inclusive atmosphere of the school ensures young people have a strong voice in all areas of school life. Interactions between young people and staff are open, relaxed and caring. Care staff clearly understand the specific needs of each young person in their care."
In many cases the progress is exceptional, and students achieve to a high standard.
The school was rated "good" in three out of four categories – quality of residential provision and care, residential pupils’ safety, and leadership and management. It was "outstanding" for its outcomes for residential pupils. The overall rating was "good".
