Tadley Court School raise money for St Michael's Hospice...

Staff and students from Tadley Court School (formerly Tadley Horizon) raised £267.50 for St Michael’s Hospice in Basingstoke after competing in a five kilometre fun run at Down Grange.

Tadley Court is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 5 to 19 with autistic spectrum disorder.

"Team Tadley" involved staff and male students, with the girls planning to take part in the upcoming Race for Life at the same venue.

Twenty representatives from Tadley Horizon took part and made their presence known with matching orange t-shirts. Alongside those who took part a number of staff and students led the support, including Spider-man, Iron man and a number of cheerleaders.

St Michael’s Hospice enables people faced with a life-limiting illness, their families and carers, to attain the highest possible quality of life by providing a choice of specialist care and support.

School principal at Tadley Court, said: "Each student and staff member completed the race and we are delighted with the money raised for St Michael’s Hospice.

"This was a huge achievement for everyone but particularly the students that find crowds and noise unsettling. Our aim is to enable and support the young people to be as independent as possible and to enjoy their lives and make real life choices as they reach adulthood. Every student who took part or supported the team thoroughly enjoyed the experience."
